From The Principal

Collins’ Families,

Who would have thought I would miss so many of the little things here at Collins?  I miss opening car doors on cold mornings.  I miss directing traffic.  I miss going to each classroom and saying good morning.  I miss observing awesome learning happening.  I miss meetings with staff.  I miss passing out milk in the lunchroom.  I miss my lunchroom conversations with the students.  I miss taking pictures of our students.  I miss posting pictures of cool events.  I miss guiding students to make the right decisions.  I miss the afternoon dismissal crossing the students.  I miss the staff.  I miss hearing stories of pride form my team.  I miss the smiles.  I miss the laughs. I miss the hugs.  I miss seeing all of your faces.

I know you and your cub have “misses” too.  Please take some time to talk with them about the things they miss.  Remind them that we will be together again in a place we call our home.  Until then, hold them tight, be what you can for them because this is hard.  So hard.  As parents / guardians we are playing more roles we ever thought we could imagine.  Give yourself a break, pat yourself on the back, and hang in there…we are in this together!

Best Regards,

Jena Lenz
